Day 2 Indianapolis Convention

Iree Palace Building Project

Message from ICA President
Dr. (Mrs.) Funmilayo Ajayi – Adegbile

First, I am seizing this opportunity to thank God for a successful 2nd Biennial Conference of our organization, as I hope that most, if not everyone, has safely returned to their respective bases.

My sincere gratitude goes to Mr. Remi Kajogbola, Founding President of the Iree Community in America (ICA), the Executive Board members, and all ICA members for the amazingly outstanding contributions and achievements made within such a short time (5 years) of our existence as a group of like-minded distinguished sons & daughters of Iree.

Dn. Kola Adeyeye, alias Chairman K, became the Vice President at the Convention. Becoming the President and Vice President of our Organization, the ICA, is an extraordinary privilege and honor that both of us accepted with gratitude and humility, especially with the amazing leadership, dedication, generosity, and people skills of our Founding President, Mr. Remi Kajogbola, who skillfully leveraged his national and global network to bring together an exceptional team that has been instrumental to the development and advancement of the vision and mission of ICA.

As everyone will agree, this is a very, very large shoe to fill. However, the courage to accept such a feat was based on the fact that all members of the Executive Board, our Immediate Past President, and our key stakeholders will continue to be on the deck.

Hence, with the exceptional firm foundation already built for us to skillfully advance, and the extraordinary passionate hard-working team of Executive Board members, we will not leave any stone unturned to ensure that our presence is positively felt in Iree as we diligently work on our vision and mission.

Therefore, we will continue to:

  • Significantly contribute to advancing, advocating for, and supporting the goals of our Kabiyesi – HRM Oba Ibrahim Muritala Oyelakin, Oyekun III – by partnering with and leveraging the support of the Chiefs, the Iree Progressive Association, other key stakeholders, and all the well-meaning sons and daughters of our beloved town of Iree.
  • Expand various innovative programs focused on economic development, community progress, and empowerment, such as the ICA Artisan Support Program (ICAASuP).
  • Strategically develop other economic growth and empowerment opportunities for the people of Iree by leveraging the various expertise within ICA.
  • Find innovative methods to offer accessible and sustainable healthcare for the people of Iree.
  • Explore creative ways for growing ICA membership and improving active participation/involvement of all sons and daughters of Iree in the Americas.

Finally, on behalf of all ICA members, we sincerely thank our Kabiyesi—HRM Oba Ibrahim Muritala Oyelakin, Oyekun III—our beloved Olori Mistura Oyelakin Ajenifuja, the Asiwaju of Iree, Pa Adeleke Afolabi, the President of Iree Progressive Association, Pastor Tunde Kajogbola, the Olori Omo Oba of Iree, Mr. Depo Akande, all attending ICA members, and our friends and associates.

Congratulatory Message to IPA Nov 21, 2020

The sons, daughters, wives, and in-laws of Iree Community in America (ICA) congratulate IPA and other community leaders on this special occasion of Iree Day. Iree is exceptional and well known for her excellent children and their historical dedication to keeping Iree a source of hope and admiration by her neighbors.

We are aware of the several projects that IPA has highlighted. As our contribution towards Iree’s growth, we have collectively selected the borehole construction in very strategic areas in Iree. We will help with the design, implement the construction, and work with IPA, the Chiefs, and other stakeholders on long term maintenance and sustainability of these boreholes. Congratulations, and may Iree remains the envy of her neighbors.
